4.9 from 119 reviews

A visually stunning and refreshing Blue Tea Latte made with vibrant butterfly pea flower tea, subtly sweetened vanilla cold foam, and your choice of milk for a creamy, caffeine-light beverage perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale

Blue Tea

  • 1 tbsp dried butterfly pea flowers
  • 1 cup hot water

Vanilla Cold Foam

  • ⅓ cup ice-cold whole milk (or oat/almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Brew the blue tea: Steep the butterfly pea flowers in hot water for 5–7 minutes until the tea attains a deep blue color. Strain out the flowers and allow the tea to cool slightly to prevent melting the ice too quickly.
  2. Make the vanilla cold foam: Blend the cold milk with vanilla syrup for about 10 seconds until smooth and foamy. If a blender is not available, use a frother, French press, or vigorously shake the mixture in a sealed jar to create foam.
  3. Assemble the latte: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the cooled blue tea over the ice, then slowly spoon or pour the vanilla cold foam on top to maintain distinct layers.
  4. Serve and enjoy: Serve immediately, preserving the layered look for visual appeal, or stir gently for a creamy, well-mixed latte experience.

Notes

  • You can customize sweetness by adjusting the amount of vanilla syrup or omit it for a more natural flavor.
  • Use dairy-free milk alternatives such as oat or almond milk to make this a vegan-friendly drink.
  • Butterfly pea flower tea is caffeine-free and rich in antioxidants.
  • Serve chilled for best flavor and refreshing effect.
  • For a different flavor twist, add a splash of lemon juice to the blue tea for a color-changing effect.
