Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 2 Black Tea Bags (or 2 tsp loose leaf tea)
  • 4 cups Water (divided)

Mango Puree

  • 1 Ripe Mango (or frozen mango cubes), diced

Sweetener & Garnish

  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • Ice cubes
  • Mango slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Boil 2 cups of water and pour it into a large pitcher. Add the black tea bags and steep for about 10 minutes until the tea is strong and flavorful.
  2. Prepare Mango Puree: In a saucepan, combine the remaining 2 cups of water with the diced mango. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Use a spoon or masher to mash the mango, creating a thick puree.
  3. Combine and Sweeten: Strain the mango puree mixture into the pitcher with the steeped tea, discarding solids. Add 2 tablespoons of honey and stir well to dissolve the sweetener evenly.
  4. Chill and Serve: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with fresh mango slices if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute honey with agave syrup or sugar if preferred.
  • For a stronger mango flavor, use fresh ripe mangoes instead of frozen ones.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more or less honey.
  • If using loose leaf tea, strain after steeping to avoid sediment.
  • This tea can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
